Stocks and various funds drop in value during stock market declines. Older investors may lack enough time to financially recover significantly.

There are reasons why certain agents prefer not to put assets into SAFE and SECURE long-term TAX DEFERRED financial products. Keeping money available to move customers in and out of "equities" facilitates generating future commissions for themselves and for brokerage firms.

There are financial products guaranteed to NEVER GO BACKWARD BY EVEN ONE CENT! They provide a SAFE AND SECURE CORE for your family's retirement portfolio. Give the subject of annuities a fresh look for this purpose.

Make them the TAX DEFERRED BEDROCK of your longer-term (retirement) portfolio whether or not you continue making decisions on buying and selling potentially higher yielding investments.

Just because funds in one's tax-qualified retirement accounts are already tax-deferred does not preclude adding an annuity (or annuities) to one's retirement portfolio. For additional reasons, continue reading.

In addition, using these financial products eliminates the terrifying Sequence of Returns, an issue that seldom gets the explanation it deserves.

Annuities are often poorly understood by responsible savers and investors who are concerned about their personal retirement, their family's security, and any generational legacy they expect to bequeath others.

These are not investments over which you will lose sleep. Persons with a high tolerance for risk, and persons addicted to gambling, find them to be as boring as watching paint dry.

Single-payment and flexible-payment fixed (and market-indexed) top-rated DEFERRED annuities are hugely important products that require accurate explanations, not sales hype.

THE FIXED DEFERRED ANNUITY
The page linked to above contains a general explanation of this often confusing, but very important financial product.

If you move money out of banks
Leave enough in a checking account to conveniently pay ongoing bills. After chatting by phone we can, if you wish, sit down together and discuss your interests and those of your family, without sales hype. I prefer meeting face-to-face in lieu of "remote" (computer-based) contacts unless we are more than fifty miles apart.

UNIVERSAL LIFE INSURANCE (UL)
Bond salesmen dealing with conservative investors often accurately advise against Whole Life and other "investment type" life insurance plans but may proceed to sell high-commission Universal Life Insurance policies.

I will not go into detail here regarding the financial matter regarding those contracts, only to point out that the insurance therein consists of annual renewal term insurance that soars in price and must be paid for, eating away the "savings" element in the policy as one grows older.

Details can be found in the last five references listed in my book's online bibliography of works pertaining to life-insurance. By living long enough one risks running out of insurance (due to lapse of an increasing annual premium required to keep the insurance portion in force) and a loss of investment savings.

I do not sell any variety of cash-value ("investment") type of life-insurance. If you own Universal Life-Insurance see the last five references listed in my book's Bibliography. I may offer suggestions based on when you bought it, as well as alternatives to "investment" type life-insurance policies. If you live in Florida, call me. If elsewhere, ask your own state-licensed agent to call me and suggest they study www.Wisebird.com

Guaranteed-issue Life-Insurance
When insurance against serious financial consequences of an untimely death is required, I urge low-cost term life insurance protection when qualified. You might be surprised and interested in this logical financial opportunity regardless of your current age and health.

If you want help after having decided to obtain a Revocable Living Trust in Florida, or would like to have an existing trust reviewed professionally, something that I strongly recommend, I can refer you to an affiliated state-licensed estate planning attorney. If your legal residence is outside of Florida, I am probably able to refer you to one in your home state.

If you are a licensed Florida attorney interested in broadening your practice and desirous of ethically serving additional clients, give me a call.

From 2004 until 2008, the year in which much financial damage occurred, Sherri, my assistant, and I helped to introduce reverse mortgages in Florida. We traveled throughout the state appointing and training licensed mortgage brokers on how to use HUD's new Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) appropriately.

Creating secure lifetime financial positions for many previously hopelessly financially struggling senior homeowners, we assured for them the ability to comfortably live in their own homes over the long term and hugely relieved their increasing financial pressures. The reverse mortgage, when handled properly, can be a financial life-saver for many seniors.

For ethical sales persons, pride and satisfaction in helping others may outweigh their financial compensation.
